Product Review:

We thought you might be interested in hearing about some of the new and unique products we carry that can help your pet be healthier.

Ultra Canine Distemper/Parvo/Hepatitis vaccine—relatively new on the market, this vaccine does the same job as older vaccines of helping a young or unvaccinated pet develop immunity to these serious viral diseases and boosting immunity in pets who have low antibodies when checked by titer. What makes this one special is it only uses half the volume of vaccine than other brands. This means less strain on the immune system and less pain on injection. We’re all about keeping pets comfortable at our office!

Homeopet products—we now carry several homeopathic remedies for various issues in pets. These are energetic remedies, not chemical medications, and contain a blend of several homeopathic remedies intended to treat a specific health issue. Our stock includes one for first aid, one for nasal congestion/allergies, one for urinary leakage, one for joint stress, and one for bladder inflammation/chronic infections. These remedies are given a few times a day until the bottle is gone, or on an as-needed basis when symptoms are occurring and are perfectly safe even if your pet is on medications.

Indigo Wild Zum Cleaner and Y.U.M. line of products. Locally made, these essential oil based products are all-natural and safe on and around pets. We’ve found the Zum cleaner to be great at cleaning up urine stains on carpet and it’s good for all surfaces. The Y.U.M. line is designed for use on and around dogs and includes liquid and bar soap for doggie bathing, a candle to reduce doggie odor, and a spray body mist for your pet. We even have a gift set for a new dog owner in your life!

Emunity treats—these are the treats we hand out liberally in our exam room, and many pets love them so much they pull their owner into the room and head for the drawer. They are emu-meat based and made in Olathe, KS from human-grade, USDA inspected ingredients. We carry them in 2-packs or a larger 8 ounce multi-pack. They are jerky-like but soft enough to tear small pieces off so they are great as training treats.

Missing Link Plus canine supplement—this supplement is one Dr Leonard has used for 20 years and her dogs are started on it at eight weeks of age. Originally developed to provide nutrients missing or damaged in processed dog foods, this freeze-dried flax seed based supplement contains many herbs, vitamins, and nutrients to help your pet reduce inflammation and feel more energetic. It also contains 850 mg of glucosamine per tablespoon. This is a terrific supplement for general use and is very beneficial as well for dogs with joint or skin problems.

Cameo ear medication—this product is prescription only, but we thought you might enjoy hearing about it. This is a medication-free lotion for the treatment of ear infections that uses an essential oil blend as the active ingredients. Better yet, it is applied to the infected ear once a week. We have found it to be very good at treating bacterial infections, and about 50% of yeast infections also respond to it. It smells good, doesn’t sting, and is easy to apply.

Bug-Off Garlic—we’ve talked about this one before, but flea and tick season is just around the corner so we’re reminding you about this great powdered or chewable garlic product you can feed your dogs on a daily basis to keep fleas and ticks at bay.

First-Aid Kits—we had some materials left over from our First Aid Kit seminar a few months ago, so we created our own and now have them for sale in our retail area. This is a small plastic box containing various useful first aid supplies to have on hand in case your pet gets injured, plus a sheet of brief instructions. Unique to our kits is a homeopathic remedy for bruising and trauma, among other things. This is a handy thing to have if you travel with your pet or if you have one prone to injuries.

Hey there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was
wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha
plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems
    finding one? Thanks a lot!

  2. Doc Sandi Says:

No, I have no idea. The company that developed my website for me set everything up, I don’t know how to do any of it myself other than modifying the content that is already there and adding new blog posts.
