Animal Chiropractic is a growing field. Regular examination of the pet’s skeletal system alignment and correction of Subluxation Complexes can improve nervous system function, relieve pain, improve performance, and help with organ or immune system imbalances. By keeping the nervous system working at optimal levels, your pet’s health and performance is maximized to the body’s fullest potential. All functions of the body are controlled by the nervous system. If nerve function is impaired by pressure on a nerve from inflammation around a subluxated joint, whatever that nerve controls will also have poor function.

Animal chiropractic should be performed only by a veterinarian or chiropractor who has received training specific to animal anatomy and special chiropractic techniques in animals. People and animals do not have the same anatomy; for this reason a regular chiropractor should not adjust animals without additional certification in animal chiropractic. To be properly certified, veterinarians or chiropractors must complete a 200-hour training course which takes several months to complete. The training includes case reports, tests, labs, and a lot of practice. This level of training is verified by independent testing and maintained through regular continuing education through two organizations, the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association and American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Dr. Leonard is certified in animal chiropractic by both.
