Pet Dental Chiropractic, Wellness Plans, Events

Happy February!  Hope your pets are doing well and handling the sometimes cold weather.  If they are having issues, remember things like food therapy can actually be used to increase internal warmth to help pets be more comfortable on cold days.  Chiropractic, acupuncture, and cold laser are all great for helping achy older pets as well.

Upcoming Events:

February 19, Canine Massage by Appointment with our terrific massage therapist, Michele Sickles!  Massage is great to remove toxins from muscles (has your pet been on medications or been anesthetized?), loosen tight muscles, relieve pain, and just relax!  Call us at 816-331-1868 today to schedule your dog’s appointment.

February 20, 1 p.m.: FREE seminar on homeopathy.  Learn what the practice of homeopathy is, how the remedies are prepared, how to administer them to pets, and some common remedies to have on hand for first aid use and where to get them.  This seminar is in our seminar room entered on the southeast side of our building, and all are welcome!  Bring friends!

March 19, 1 p.m.: FREE seminar on Essential Oils. We’re bringing in guest speaker Laurie Hale with Young Living Essential Oils for this one.  She will hold her Essential Oils 101 class discussing common oils and how to use them, and Dr Leonard will additionally discuss their safe use in animals.  Information on ordering oils will be available as well.  This class is also open to non-pet-owners wishing to learn about oils.

Chiropractic Special! February is National Pet Dental Month!  We don’t have dental x-ray or fancy dental  equipment so only do the most basic of dentals.  BUT, after being anesthetized for dental work, a pet can definitely benefit from a chiropractic exam to help adjust any joints that have become stuck due to manipulation during the procedure while their muscles are unable to protect the joints.  SO, instead of dental specials, for the month of February we are offering $50 chiropractic exams to all pets that have had their teeth cleaned in ANY veterinary clinic.  Just let us know when you make the appointment, and bring the receipt from their dental with you.  We will run this special until mid-March for any February dentals.  Tell your friends if you hear their pet is having its teeth cleaned.

Wellness Plans:  Do you or other pet owners you know have concerns about the cost of good maintenance veterinary care for your pets?  Did you know Whole Health Pet Center offers Wellness Plans?  We have several levels, from Puppy and Kitten first year, to a basic well-pet maintenance, to a senior pet plan.  For an initial payment, then smallewellness plan budgetr automatic monthly payments, your pet can receive a long list of services throughout the year plus discounts on non-covered services and purchases.  This is a great way to be sure your pet receives all it needs to stay healthy, and budget the costs evenly through a year.  The really cool thing is that all of our plans include our holistic services like chiropractic, vaccine titers, and acupuncture.  More information can be found on our website under Services/Wellness Plans.  In the near future we hope to add a Performance Dog Plan as well, covering some basic holistic therapies like chiropractic and cold laser for active hunting and performance competition dogs, while leaving out services people prefer to get with a vet closer to home.
